Jeffrey Potter
Title: Executive Chef
Always in search of culinary adventure, Jeffrey’s tastes have been influenced by his travels to Europe, Africa, India, and China. Having first hand experience with these cultures allows Jeffrey to have an appreciation and commitment to staying true to the traditional preparation and taste of around-the-world cuisines while adding a Market Salamander twist.
As a certified Executive Chef, with 25 years of culinary experience Jeffrey served a formal apprenticeship with Weston resorts and hotels who he continued working with on the islands of Hawaii and Kauai until joining the Ritz Carlton flagship at Laguna Niguel, California and eventually the Jockey Club at the Ritz Carlton in Washington, DC. Jeffrey then made the jump to restaurants beginning and ending with the Carlyle Grand in Shirlington, VA. Jeffrey Potter is pleased to be a part of Market Salamander, Middleburg. Already a Middleburg resident, managing such a gourmet property in his own community allows him to work closely with friends, local schools and groups, and their events.
Jeffrey really loves sharing what he’s learned with the community and his staff. Whether it’s mixing with locals from the Market’s open kitchen, or at one of the markets cooking classes, he believes in educating the public and demystifying the cooking process. Jeffrey just released the 2008 catering and cooking class menu and has restyled the Market’s counter for lunch and takeaway dinning, and looks forward to seeing you all in the Market this year!
